Our panettones benefit from a 36-hour natural rise and are prepared with fresh quality ingredients such as eggs, butter and natural yeast! Crafted in Sicily, “the citrus paradise,” these flavourful orange-scented desserts are the product of Italian artisan know-how!
To make our panettones, we only use fresh eggs laid by free-range hens, a choice motivated by ethical as well as health reasons. Natural yeast is a complex primary ingredient to handle, since its fermentation time is not easily adaptable to large-scale production. Only expert hands, combined with artisan know-how, can treat such a delicate component to achieve the finest resulting product. The oranges are frozen just after they are harvested in order to preserve their organoleptic properties. The orange peels are chopped at the end of the slow candying process so they retain their essential oils and natural aroma.
Artisan
Nino Marino and Vincenzo Longhitano were only 20 years old when they founded their confectionery business in the Sicilian town of Bronte. Fifteen years later, their sweets and spreads are still made by hand, with local ingredients such as a hazelnut variety from the Nebrodi Mountains, following traditional methods.
